Dear Moto Customer:

We at Moto value your business and respect the privacy of your information, which is why we have provided this notice to let you know about a data security incident that could potentially involve your personal information.

Through the course of routine daily examination of fuel pumps, on August 8, 2017, we discovered two credit card skimmer devices had been placed by an unknown individual or individuals on gasoline pump numbers 1 and 8, at our store located at 100 East Plaza Drive, Carterville, IL. An additional device was also found at the Moto in Marion at 2604 West Main Street, Marion, IL, but does not appear have been capable of transmitting data. To the best of our knowledge, based on our policies and procedures, the skimmer devices were not in place for more than 24 hours.

The data accessed may have included personal information such as credit and debit card numbers and security codes. No devices were compromised inside the store and the skimmers found at the pumps would not affect in-store transactions or transactions at non-affected pumps.

Moto values your privacy and deeply regrets that this incident occurred. We are conducting a thorough review of the potentially affected pumps and store systems, and will notify you, by way of this website, if there are any significant developments. Moto is implementing additional security measures designed to prevent a recurrence of such a breach and to protect the privacy of our valued customers.

Moto also is working closely with major credit card suppliers and law enforcement to ensure the incident is properly addressed.

If you believe your data may have been compromised, please review the Steps You Can Take to Further Protect Your Information for further details on steps you can take to protect your personal information.
